The papers include: Eight letters from the poet Michael Dransfield, 1970-1972; Two notepads containing Blay's journal when he was writing Part of the scenery, 1979; Five small fieldbooks containing jottings written on his walks in the Deua, Tuross and Brogo valleys, 1981-1982; Six large notepads containing the journal kept on the 1981-1982 walk and forming the basis of Blay's book Trek through the back country; Copy of Trek through the back country (Sydney, Methuen, 1987).

Dransfield, Michael, 1948-1973

Michael Dransfield was educated at Sydney Grammar School. After studying at university and working as a journalist, he began writing poetry full-time.
